Between 1726 and 1848, the population of Jews in the Czech lands was strictly controlled through the Familiants Law. The law prevented Jews from marrying unless they held a "family number." These numbers were passed down from father to eldest son, and could only be passed to a younger son if his older brother died. The aim was to prevent the Czech Jewish population from expanding.

These registers record the names of the Familianten, along with some births. Organization is sadly lacking compared to the other collections on this site.
